An Open Letter to Facebook

DISCLAIMER: This was upsetting to me, it does include hateful, offensive language (not my own.)

There have been a lot of tragic events happening, and the saddest part is it’s not even a surprise anymore. I hear about people getting shot and I hang my head as the voices come out to argue their sides and still NOTHING CHANGES. And then I check my Facebook.

Life Lessons From Furry Friends Pt. 3

Scott

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted one of these, and that’s because Scott stumped me and I refused to go out of order! The original idea was that I would pick one lesson from each pet I have owned. I just could not decide what lesson to pluck from living with Scott. I thought maybe humor because he was such a funny character he always made everyone laugh. Now, I’d just like to tell his story, and maybe by the end I’ll narrow down one word like forgiveness or patience (from part 1 and 2)…and maybe I won’t. :p

Day 3 of the 3 Day Quote Challenge

I have saved the best for last! I went from song lyrics, to movies, and now of course, to my favorite writers (although I definitely have more than 3). Also, if you know what the featured image is…props to you!

I want to thank samanthamurdochblog again for nominating me for this challenge. Please do check out her blog as well!

Once again, the rules are post 3 quotes for 3 consecutive days and nominate 3 new people each day.

Check out Day 1 and Day 2 if you haven’t already!

#WeekendCoffeeShare

If we were having coffee I’d remind you to wish Kevin a Happy Birthday! Today he turns 24 so we will be the same age for the next six months :).

If we were having coffee I’d tell you I’m excited for my life to feel less hectic because my last day of work was Friday, but in reality I know it’s still going to be crazy busy between getting ready to move, trying to find a new job, and a place to live in California!

The Most Interesting People

I read this post from one of my favorite blogs and had to share.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The College Years

The last guy I dated was image obsessed, coming from a pop-punk band background, everyone around him had to either fit the image of the Agnostic//Beardo Weirdo//Pop Band Groupie. It made me think about a few groups of people I’ve crossed and how these relationships effected me.

You see, this isn’t my first ride on the insecure narcissistic creative kid carousel. When I first moved here I rode the bus with a girl named Amanda. She would later drop the ‘A’ because it was more cunning, bold and “different”. She could only surround herself with boys that were in bands and the groupie girls that wanted to date them.

Last night I was thinking about this a lot, the best friends I’ve had in my life, that I still have in my life, we have completely different lives:

  1. Diana, a social worker for the VA, married to a State Representative

The Black Cat Blue Sea Award

My second award nomination! A big THANK YOU to DAISY IN THE WILLOWS for nominating me for this award that I had not heard of before either! I love the title though, because I love cats (and I have two adorable ones)!

I found Daisy’s blog during the A to Z Challenge in April and continue to be impressed by her writings, her experience, her perspective, and her insight. Not only is she an engaging writer, but she talks about the subjects we really NEED to. She brings awareness to topics other people might avoid, like mental health or environmental awareness (save the animals!) and has a refreshingly honest approach as she ties in her own life. I think a big part of blogging is interacting with other bloggers and Daisy helped inspire this realization as well as boosting my confidence by giving me multiple shout-outs and words of encouragement. Definitely check out her blog!

Blogger Recognition Award

This is the first time I’ve done one of these things and because this one is called the “Blogger Recognition Award” I thought it would be nice to do to help some newer blogs I’ve discovered since you have to nominate 15 people.

First, I’d like to thank Reethu and her blog A Thought, A Word and An Eternal Bliss for nominating me. Her blog is fairly new as is mine. I stumbled upon her blog by finding her Eternal Love post which was a poem I thoroughly enjoyed. Check out her page to read her poetry and writings!
